That's too bad about Dunner.  You should google training a blind horse.  I have read things about riding vision impaired horses.  Many appaloosas are vision impaired (moon blindness) and with the trust of their owner have led normal lives as riding horses.  Many folks don't even know they were blind.

Have you had the vet check him out?  He may just have a virus.

sorry i have been really busy lately. im going through a really hard time right now we think dunner is going blind i have been crying my eyes outthis is the hardest thing ever i cant live without her she means the world to me. idk how to train a blind horse and it will be hard to ride her. we are praying very hard. she ran into the side of the barn yesterday and i had to show her where her stall was and shes only 13 and we have had her for 2 years. i dont get why this had to happen

Hello! Sorry I haven't written in a while. February has been such a busy month for me! I have been riding sooo much. I have been to 3 reining clinics and have been to the Arabian Horse Show in Scottsdale. This is one of the largest Arabian Shows in the world. There are more than 2,000 of the best horses in competition represented by several countries all over the world. They compete in everything from halter to native costume, driving, dressage, english, western, reining (my favorite) and many more.
I actually won a ribbon this year which may be the only ribbon I ever win there! I entered my filly's picture in a photo contest and won 4th place. Maybe someday I will win a ribbon for reining competitions. (I know,,,,dream on!)
Anyway, Hope you are doing well and getting some rides in!

Radar sounds like a good thing to do when you can't ride horses.  You sound like a speed demon.  How long is the course?

Hey girl!

Have you gotten any riding in , yet?  I got a few rides in last week and today I went on a killer ride with my hubby.  He rode Mav and we went straight up on the trail at South Mountain.  I had to get off Star to help her go over the boulders!  She did really well.  We rode on some crazy technical hills!  Never a dull ride with my hubby.

Hey girl! How are you doing? Can you believe it is February already?
I posted some photos of my daughter and I riding over the weekend. The weather was great!
How was your indoor ride? Hope you had a great time, too.

They are cute! Of course I am biased
Just got in from helping the vet and the equine dentist with the neighbor's horses and mine.
She has 2 really big stout quarter horses. It is amazing how big their heads are. The dentist was commenting on how big their heads are and also how heavy they are. One of the horses had even broken a molar, so the tooth had to be pulled
Then we came back to my house and did little arab faces! The dentist was trying to tell me that Star was only 2, but She will be 3 in March. The vet vouched for me that Star is 3. But her teeth are only as mature as a 2 year old. We removed her wolf teeth and took Maverick's points off. They will be better tomorrow!

I posted pictures, but I am afraid they are not very good.  I took them with my phone, so sadly one is sideways!  I usually have a good camera with me, but it was too big for a fast ride.  My husband likes to go fast!  We rode for 4 hours today.  The day was nice, but we are expecting rain tomorrow.

We rolled the chicken coop to higher ground since we get irrigation for the property this week.  That always happens when it rains!  As you can see from the latest photos, we need the rain as it is so dry here!

Side saddle riding is amazing.  I have never tried that, but it looks hard!

ok i will look forword to seeing them. lisa is already making plans for camping in may. i don't no if i told u that my friend offerd me to ride dunner side saddle at midwest horse fair and me and my riding partner talked it over and i'm going to pass on the offer it's sounds so fun getting to show dunner off and ride with all those people but it's $500.00 dollars i don't have and i would only have 3 months to train dunner and lern myself to and it's a little hard with the weather. hope u have fun. tell maverick and star i said HI

I googled the Dells and it looks like a fun place!
Star and Maverick got shoes today. Star got all 4 feet done and she stood just as nicely as Maverick! The farrier always makes their feet look so pretty. Tomorrow I am going on a trail ride with my husband! I will try to take pictures.
