Subject: When people say stupid things about horses!
Content: I saw this post in another site and the stories were hilarious! Tell us a story about when someone said something totally stupid about your horse ! My sister in law is a great city person. She is one who is always groomed to the max and her closest thing to animals is the accessory dog that she carries with her to most places... Anyway she came with my brother to visit us at the ranch house and see the horses. She was horribly bothered by the condition of the horse's feet and told me that I should call a vet... I had to explain to her that the horses had hooves and that their feet were fine. She was very relieved to learn that horses have hooves and that their feet did not fall off. Another stupid story came from an unlikely, but not surprising source. I was hauling to California for a NaTRC competition in San Diego and stopped at the State line for livestock inspection. The lady at the livestock inspection was very confused with my hauling card. The picture on the hauling card showed the horse and was labeled "black with no markings". Well, the picture was not colored black it again just showed the outline of the horse. I kept trying to explain to her that it was just how the card was sent to me. I told her to look at the health certificate which was just completed the day before. Again it described a black horse with no markings. She still didn't believe me and was getting ready to confiscate my poor horse. I was getting pretty nervous when finally a supervisor came in and they had to debate this issue. Meanwhile a trailer pulled in behind me with a white horse. Guess what? her hauling card had a picture of a black horse outline that read "white with no markings"... We all had a good laugh over this one, and now they do not even require a hauling card! Was is your story?
