So here in Michigan, riding season is just begginning! And I am happy to say I have a healthy happy pony :] Unfortunately I will not be riding for another month. Three Sundays ago, I was riding (doiiih). The bareback pad I usually use was wet (There a leak in the tackroom :( ) so I just went completely bareback. We were in the rounpen, and Maxie was doing very good despite being a little slow. It was pretty nice that day so I was wearing a tanktop. Me and my boy were happily trotting along wh... Read More
Hey there Michigan horse lovers, good news! Everyone's beloved MILLBROOK TACK has REOPENED! It is under new management. They are having a sale (this weekend I think) to clear out old merchandise. Everything is 15% percent off, but some things are up to 75% off!!! Our prayers have been answered!... Read More
Yesterday, I was having a nice bareback trot through the field in the back in the barn property and out of nowhere, max spooked. And it's not just for max and I either; Once, someone from t... Read More
Of course, I was the lead mare is pasrute two long before last night! But last night I made sure all the other horses knew it. I took the three pans of grain outside: One for Duke(the large chestnut), one for Fancy(a small black mare), and one for my boy, the infamous Maxie. I get a low repectful rumble from my boy, or Duke. I'm not really sure. So I go in to the pasture and instantly am crowded by three fuzzy, greedy faces. Usually I can rush past them but last night I didn't feel like it. So... Read More
Last night, the barn manager where max is kept called my Dad. I figured I was in trouble for something, because everyone's always in trouble according to her. I overhear her say something about a shot though. And instantly become worried. My Dad gives me the phone and without saying hi, I ask if max is okay (so much for manners when your horse is in trouble!). The manager says he is getting a little colicy, and that she was going to give him a shot of banamine (or whatever it is) once we got t... Read More
