I fell.
Posted On 05/09/2008 22:51:33 by ponyofdoom
Yeah so I fell again.

It wasn't NEAR as fun this time. Anywhere near.

Er, at least I don't think it was. I don't know because...

I PASSED OUT BEFORE FALLING OFF.

Max spooked and started bucking. I started sliding to the right and then passed out. I don't remember falling but I can somewhat recall hitting the ground and rolling over once. I landed on my bad arm but it's not hurt. Anyway the first thing I remember was attempting to yell to my friends/Mom/Friends Mom. Then I kinda went out again and when I was back my friends Mom (who ironically is training to be a medical assistant) was saying "Nothings broken but she's got a big bruise on her back."

Then I just layed on the ground for a long time. Then I got up and waited about 20 minutes.

And then got back on. :)

Of course, my butt hurts really bad (I'm just being honest) and my arm too. Max was just flighty tonight because I had a friend over who was being loud for some reason. I told her to shut up and she was still loud. He had beenbucking earlier too when I was trying to brush his tail: Sheactually screamed and he freaked out. :P

So my butt still hurts... And I won't be riding tomorrow. I really think I will doa lot better when I get an English saddle. ^^"

About your saddle. If you are riding a saddle that the stirrups can't be adjusted on then use a different one. It is usually easier to stay in a western saddle. A lot of good saddles (and a lot of junk) on ebay.

Also, since you were out for a while, you probably got a concussion.

Do you have a riding buddy ?

If you ride with a buddy, then if you or your buddy gets hurt, then you are not waiting for someone to come along to help.  Also the 2 horses on a ride will help settle each other.

Yeah, there was quite a few other people there which may explain why he was so flighty. I had just been warming him up bareback when I fell. :P I do usually wear a helmet, but of course because of Murphys Law, when I WASN'T wearing it, THAT's when I had to fall off.
