Cowboy Rides Away
Posted On 06/29/2008 12:52:06 by Colorancher

Yesterday I said a last good bye to friend and neighbor. John “Mick” Buyer was a cow man. His family homesteaded in this area well over 100 years ago. He was raised around the land and livestock and a lifetime of hard work. We shared a great many laughs together. The stories he told of days gone by were many of the same ones I had heard from my dad's family, also from here. We also shared a birth date, December 12, although his was 23 years earlier.

There is so much I could say about Mick but right now it still hurts too much. Happy Trails Mick.

I bet he was a really wonderful friend.  Those are few and far between in this day and time.  I know he left you with many great memories that will make him a part of you for years to come.  My prayers are with you and his family.  Take comfort in knowing that one day you both will meet again across the great divide and will ride the trail together again.

It's always so very hard and painful to have someone you love take that last ride alone and I feel so badly for you, knowing well the empty spot in your life he will leave behind.

So please know you have my deepest sympathies for the loss of your good friend and neighbor, may your pain heal to be happy memories soon, and may he R.I.P. and ride easy on his heavenly happy trail.
