horseless in Hawaii
Posted On 11/24/2009 13:37:37 by ivoryhoofranch

It has been about 6 weeks of living in paradise and we are all adjusting well. We have been meeting people who ride and own horses here. They are the nicest people you could know. Everyone one is kind and happy. The horse world is similar to Az where you have shows and trail riding they have clinics; this week Bobby Ingersoll was here doing private lessons and clinics, he even judged a western ranch show (I hope I got that right).  We are still looking for a 4H club. We are going to join a livestock 4H club so 'Happy hypnosis' can raise a chicken,. We can do that here at the house we live in.  Chickens roam free like sparrows. Not keeping a horse here makes the horse club a bit more difficult. They do not have 4H horse horse shows, they have a few fun days and the 4Hers' compete in the High school rodeo here. Most horse areas are North shore, where the surfers are and East. We live East, North shore is a bit of a drive about 45 minutes to an hour, the speed limits are mostly 25-35 MPH. We are still considering a shared lease like what we did last year with Belle. Or else just focus on taking lessons.
