This is Josie.  She is a pitbull that was rescued by a friend of mine a few years ago.  She found Josie under her car and believed that she was used as a "bait"dog to fire up fighting pit bulls.  She was covered with bite marks, but soon was healed up and has become my friend's best companion.  Many pit bull dogs that are "dumped"  are picked up by the Animal Services are almost always euthanized.  My friend chose to keep Josie.  This is a portrait I painted for my friend.  Pit bull dogs are not my breed of choice, but this dog is a great dog!
