Star is my best friend. He's half Quarter horse and half Tennessee Walker. He's nine years old and very ornery but I have gotten used to his moods. He was mistreated and passed around too many times before I got him and now he hates all other horses. He does not know how to relate to them because he's always looking for them to do something to him so he tries to get his in first. My two year old is just learning to rein a bit and getting used to me on his back so we are taking things slow and just doing reining work at a walk for now--just taking baby steps. Unlike Star, Ransom loves other horses and when we go to the arena at the riding club he wants to socialize with everyone he meets now.

I am the mother of a seventeen year old disabled son. I run speed events at the local riding club that we are members of. My son still has to be led thru the events. He loves it though and it is a good family event that we can all go to and enjoy. Last past year I won my first, first place buckle for pole bending but my horse just don't have the speed to keep up with the other riders in my age group.

I love living in the country and my greatest dream is to move to Montana or Wyoming someday in the next few years.
