Today is my mother's birthday. She would have been 52 years old. I wish I could pick up the phone and call her just to say "I love you". I would give anything in the world for my two daughters to talk, laugh, and play with their grandmother. I know she is still here with me but it is just not the same. I love you Mom! Happy Birthday!! I miss you soo much!

I'm gonna be a Veterinary Technician once I graduate. I'm very excited but very scared too. lol I'll keep you all posted on how I am doing in school. Love you all!! Courtney
I just got home last week from being out of town to find my horse has been stolen. I searched everywhere where he may have gone just to make sure he did not just wander off and there was no sign of him anywhere. My heart aches with pain from this dreadfull event. He was my best friend and I just want him home again. If you see him, please call the Lewis & Clark Sheriff Department with any info at (406) 442-7883
Last Friday (May 16th) my horse, Jim, had a pretty intersting accident. Bill (the guy that owns the property where Jim is staying) went out to feed the horse and the cows. He gave Jim some oats then continued his way across the wooden bridge to feed the cows. After Jim was done eating his oats, he took off at a full gallop towards the herd. As he turned to cross the bridge, his feet came out from underneath him and he fell on his side. Jim tried to get back up and when he did, he fell off the bridge into the creek below. Bill ran down to the creek to keep his head above the water when Jim got his footing, stood up, shook himself off, then took off at a gallop again to find his favorite calf. Bill watched him for a good hour to make sure he was alright. There was no limp on him or anything. My horse is very lucky to have come out of that situation with just a bruised ego.
I cannot believe it's been four years already! On this day, in 2004, my husband, Keven, and I said our "I do's". Since then, our lives have been on a rollercoaster ride.....going through the ups and downs of a typical relationship. We have survived the trials of Post-Tramatic Stress (from the 1st deployment), the death of our 1st baby, four times I have almost died, moving from one post to another, birthdays, anniversaries, the birth of our two daughters, another deployment, a few extra unexpected detours in life, etc. But in the end, I would not trade it for anything in the world. I love everything I have. I have worked hard for it and I will continue to do so.
Last weekend, my mother-in-law, the girls and I all took a trip to the neighbor's house where my horse is currently staying. It was soooo good to see him. My mother-in-law went out into the pasture to catch Jim while I went and talked to the owner of the property. We met up at the garage where all Jim's tack is being stored. Jim was acting up a bit (neighing like crazy, pacing, pawing the ground) because he wanted to go back to his cow friends. Come to find out when I talked to the owner of the property, Jim has become really attatched to the first calf that was born this season. We got him saddled up and my mother-in-law took him out to work him a bit to get him to calm down. About a mile and a half up the road, they got into a little bucking war. Of course, my mother-in-law won that one. While they were out, I let the girls out of the truck and they were wandering around the property. And wouldn't you know it, by the time they were done, they were covered in cow poop! haha With Jim acting up a bit, I was a little hesitant on me riding let alone letting the girls ride him. So, I got on him and we gave each girl a ride on him while my mother-in-law led him around. It's amazing how smart he is because as soon as the girls got on him, he calmed right down. The neighing stopped, the pawing stopped, and he was quiet as can be. I did not ride him much but I did let the girls ride him by themselves for a little bit after I had seen him calm down considerably. This was the first time I got to ride him since my surgery. While putting his tack away, the girls were in the back of the truck. Jim hung his head into the bed so the girls could reach him. Kahlan was brushing his nose with the curry comb (and I was trying to take it from her) but he did not care. He stood there and let her do it. I'm starting to wonder if he misses them. I know they miss him like crazy. Jenna stands outside and yells for Jim when we are home and she is expecting him to show up. I took him back to the pasture and he waited patiently for me to take his halter off before making a bee-line to the back fence and calling to his cow friends again. I miss him being here at my house so much.

Okay, after waiting, and waiting, and waiting even longer, I finally got my car today. I am so excited because I am no longer stranded 20 miles outside of town anymore. I can come and go as I please. I don't have to ask if I can borrow a vehicle. I feel like I was set free after being stuck in a cage for almost a year. I'm free! I'm finally free!
On Sunday, the Easter Bunny took the colored eggs and hid them in the backyard. Daddy took Kahlan to help her collect the eggs while Jenna dragged me all over the place. Kahlan did not care too much about finding the eggs but when her daddy handed her an egg, she got excited. Jenna was running from egg to egg like a little chicken with her head cut off. You could hear eggs cracking each time Jenna put a new egg into her basket. lol But, they had fun and that's all that matters.
